The client

Founded in 1985 in Martorelles, Spain, Ferros Planes began as a wholesale warehouse for metal tubes and bars. As the years went by, it began to offer more and more services, including strategic partnerships with other companies: from tube fabrication and cutting to length, to coating and logistics.
In 2001 they purchased the first Lasertube from BLM In 2001, Planes purchased the first Lasertube from RGsports, one of the first in the Spanish territory. In 2015 they began a collaboration with JMB (José María Bereciartu), a Pamplona-based company specializing in tube fabrication, and they became a majority partner in 2023.

Today Ferros Planes processes more than 10,000 tons of tubes each year and can count with 4 locations in the Spanish territory covering more than 16,000 m2.

The target

The only way to stand out in the tube distribution and resale market was to differentiate itself from the competition and add value to its services. Offering processing on the tube (cut to length, chamfering, end cutting, holes of different diameters, etc.) and a more complete service that allowed customers to have the finished piece delivered in a short time allowed Ferros Planes to emerge as one of the main players in the tube supply chain in Spain.

The solution

Lasertube systems make it possible to perform various processes on tubes that are not feasible on traditional machines such as cold saws. High performance with fast time execution, versatility to cut different profiles and sections with a single plant, and high cutting quality are just some of the factors that have enabled increased productivity at Ferros Planes. This is expanding to cover the entire tube supply chain: fabrication, precision cutting, welding preparation, painting, and logistics.

LT7 is a lasertube and metal profile cutting machine that provides productivity and fast production changeovers, with very fast cutting speeds for tubes up to 23 kg/m.
